Mauritius Exchange rates change on a daily bases and the Mauritius Rupee (MUR) may fluctuate many times during the day. To help provide you with the most up to date Mauritius Rupee currency rate, we update the MUR rate every 30 minutes. The Mauritian rupee (Rs) is the currency of Mauritius. Coins of 5 cents, 20 cents, 50 cents, one rupee, 5 rupees, 10 rupees and 20 rupees are used. Notes are in cuttings of Rs 25, Rs 50, Rs 100, Rs 200, Rs 500, Rs 1000 and Rs 2000.
Before you change your foriegn currencies to the Mauritian Rupee, check out some of the banks and at bureaux de change as they normally have a slightly different exchange rate from one another.
There are no restrictions on foreign currency, traveler's cheques and other banking instruments. Credit cards are also widely accepted everywhere on the island.
